Into the Wild Heart of the Casentinesi Forest

Dear group,

we will walk a loop hike through the stunning Foresta della Lama, in the heart of the Casentinesi Forest National Park, one of the most evocative and unspoiled areas of the Apennines.

Starting from Aia di Guerrino, the route crosses the Forconali valley, following streams and dense woodland until reaching La Lama, a wide clearing set within the forest, featuring a small church and beautiful views of the surrounding ridgelines.

The return follows the Scalandrini trail, offering a panoramic viewpoint over the valley and access to the impressive Scalandrini waterfall, one of the highest and most scenic waterfalls in the park, especially striking when water flow is abundant.
