Movie: Amarga Navidad

Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film: Original Spanish version with Italian subtitles. Let’s meet at 7.30 pm to get our tickets and go in together. It’s not always possible to sit together. Film synopsis: Amarga Navidad follows Elsa, an advertising director who, following her mother’s death, obsessively throws herself into her work to escape the pain. However, a panic attack prompts her to leave Madrid and head to Lanzarote with a friend. At the same time, the film tells the story of Raúl, a director in the midst of a creative crisis who turns Elsa’s life and the lives of those around him into material for a screenplay. Almodóvar thus weaves together grief, memory and autofiction, constantly playing on the boundary between reality and fiction.
