Let's Travel To The Moon 🌙
On the occasion of 50 years of the first steps of the Man on the Moon, this exhibition reveals the relationship that man has with this star.
From scientific exploration to artistic creation, the exhibition invites a walk through the works of art and objects that have embodied the innumerable visions and feelings that the moon has inspired.
Observable by each of us with the naked eye, discreet and omnipresent at the same time, the Moon has always questioned us. The advances in knowledge accomplished since the seventeenth century have allowed men to observe and even conquer it.
Yet that does not seem to have fundamentally changed our relationship with it. The star retains its aura and its power of fascination. It continues to question us about ourselves, like a mirror.
The Moon invites us to dream and contemplation, from antiquity to the present day, with works mainly produced in Europe but also from African, Arab and Far Eastern civilizations. We will also discover scientific instruments testifying to the research of knowledge on the star.
