City Trip # Back to the Middle Ages 🇫🇷
Did you know that this city of just 12,000 inhabitants was, in the twelfth century, the third largest city of the kingdom of France?
Provins was then one of the richest and most prosperous cities in Europe and possessed architectural treasures some of which can still be visited today. Let's discover these wonders!
Located 70 kilometers from Paris and UNESCO World Heritage since Protected content , the city of Provins was throughout the Middle Ages a major trading place thanks to its fairs that took place here twice a year. Merchants from all over the Old Continent were hurrying to supply rare spices from the Orient and luxury goods brought from the Mediterranean shores. For our greatest pleasure, a large part of the buildings of this period have survived. As a result, while strolling through its streets, we really go back to the time of knights and troubadours.
How to get there?
By train: we do not need to book, only to have a Navigo card.
