Dear InterNations members,

The museum is in the same high-rise building as the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. It is difficult to talk in this very quiet museum (it is impossible to use the cellphone either.) I hope the attendees can stay until the cafe time afterwards.

If you would like to go to a cafe with us, please bring some cash with you. You may be asked to wait for the other members to arrive at the meeting point. This exhibition ends on 3rd September.

Time Out Tokyo says:
Things are about to get devilishly hot at the Mitsui Museum this summer, as this survey of the Buddhist netherworld in art introduces Tokyoites to Enma Dai-O, the god of Hell, Ksitigarbha, the bodhisattva of the damned, plus demons, ghouls and other fearsome inhabitants of the fiery realm. In addition to this ghastly cast, the artworks on display depict the cycle of existence, paradise and other central elements of Buddhist lore, while a lighter touch is provided by select drawings from manga master Shigeru Mizuki's hell-themed comics.

Tentative programme:
15: Protected content together near the ticket counter of the museum on 7th floor
15: Protected content of Buddhist Hell scenes" exhibition
17:00 or earlier Coffee time at a nearby cafe/restaurant (probably inside the Mitsukoshi Department Store)
19: Protected content of activity

For further details, please visit the museum website:Protected content

Please keep your attendance status up to date. :)
If you need to cancel, please make sure to press the "cancel attendance" button.

I look forward to seeing you at the museum.

Best wishes,

Mahito KATO
