China Camp State Park is located on the San Pedro peninsula, near San Rafael just 15 mi North of the GG bridge. The park has 1,640 acres with a variety of habitats, including oak woodlands, meadows, grasslands, and tidal salt marshes with spectacular views across San Pablo Bay.

We will be hiking the Bay View/Shoreline Loop trail. This moderate hike is about 8.5 miles long with an elevation change of 1,450'. Total hiking time with lunch break is about 5 hours.

Meet at the Back Ranch Meadow parking lot and Bay View trailhead at 9:45 am (exact directions will be sent out to attendees). Temperatures should be in the mid-high 70s, but in the forests it can be still cooler, so please dress in layers and firm shoes (there are some rocky sections). There should be no fog! We will keep you posted about weather conditions.

We will have our International Picnic at the historic China Camp fishing village right by the Bay about 3 hours into the hike. Bring your own lunch and perhaps a dish from your home/favorite country to share. Please bring enough water/beverages to hydrate. We'll also have a tailgate after-party at the end (please bring some beverages/snacks to share)

This is yet another spectacular hiking venue in the North Bay. Newcomers and Oldtimers please join us for more hiking fun, great company and to enjoy our wonderful nature:-)
