Calle Malaga | Italian (No Subtitles)
María Ángeles, 79, has spent her entire life in Tangier , in the Spanish community to which she belongs. She formerly worked at the Cervantes Theater. Now, a widow, she spends her daily life in the neighborhood around her home on Calle Málaga, the street where she has always lived. When her daughter Clara comes to visit her from Madrid , she receives a communication that will turn her life upside down. Clara, close to divorce, with children and experiencing financial difficulties, has decided to put her mother's house up for sale. María Ángeles refuses to follow her daughter to Spain and opposes her will regarding the house, but the property is registered in Clara's name. Before returning to Europe, she sells all the furniture and belongings and initiates the process with a real estate agency.
Deeply saddened and disappointed by a decision that uproots her from an environment where she knows everyone and a home that is part of her identity, María Ángeles ends up in a retirement home. Once Clara leaves, she signs the papers to leave the facility, pretending to join her daughter in Madrid. Instead, she is taken to the house on Calle Málaga, now up for sale, where she secretly resetts herself. With the little money she has, she buys her first pieces of furniture from Abslam, the antique dealer who bought them. Determined to complete the project, she takes steps to buy the rest, supported by Abslam, a single man in his seventies, with whom she finds love again after many years.
