Irish History Part II: The Irish Free State, 1921-1937
The Irish Free State : Protected content
Once again, the Learning Lovers chapter takes a different course and focuses on “Eight Ages” of the Irish State, a ground-breaking history charting the birth, growth and development of the country as it approaches the centenary of its foundation in Protected content .
As announced in the first flyer, this second innings does not strictly respect individual decades, but focuses on the years Protected content , which refer to the initial post independence years of the fledgling nation. This interval was preceded by membership of the United Kingdom and followed by the entering into force of the Protected content , which defines the political, judicial and institutions of Ireland and what remains in force to this day.
When researching the content for this lecture, I was intrigued by a series of questions that automatically popped up in Google when entering this search term. These will set the tone of the day’s event and which remain very relevant to the present day:
•What does Irish Free State mean?
•Did Ireland become a free state?
•Is Ireland a part of United Kingdom?
•How is Ireland divided?
While tracing the evolution of the history of the country within these years, these and other questions will form the basis for a review of historical events from the time and be followed by a hopefully stimulating and lively discussion
You are only one click away from another step to learn more about the fascinating history of Ireland!
