Iconc Sailing Boats of Yesterday
The Nippon maru at approximately Protected content long was built in Protected content a training ship. She took cadets and trainee naval officers across the Pacific and it's said the only time her two Protected content power engines were used was to get in and out of port, the rest of the time depending on her 32 sails and the skill of the captain and crew.
In those days there were few luxuries, life on board must have been tough!
Chance to share the experience with a tour around the boat preserved as it was in the day.
Also nearby the Port Museum charts the history of Yokohama Port, well worth a visit as it's only two minutes away.
We'll meet near the boat and after checking her out go on to the nearby museum with a break on the way.
After let's check out one of the many nearby microbreweries where we can sit, chat and mingle.
Looking forward
