We will meet in front of the Shirlington Library Protected content Ave, Arlington, VA) at 10:00 for a 10:15 departure. The Harris Teeter parking garage ( Protected content ) is right next door and there are many other lots within 2 blocks as per the previous link. And, for last minute bathroom use, the library opens at 10 am and Harris Teeter is next door and open 24 hours.

We will take a casual ride on rather flat terrain at Protected content down 4-mile Run Trail to Mt. Vernon Trail through the Alexandria waterfront to the area underneath the Wilson Bridge (10.5 km). This area has a nice view of the Potomac, provides a good place to rest, and has a water fountain and clean toilets. If the wind speed is less than 15 km/hr, for those who want the experience of viewing the Potomac from the top of the bridge along with a little more difficulty due to the moderate climb on the bridge, we will continue on to National Harbor (an additional 4 km). Protected content

METRO RIDERS: you can take the metro to Crystal City and then ride to meet the group at the intersection of 4-mile run and Mt. Vernon trails. We should be at that around 10:35. Email or text the ride host Andrew DePristo, Protected content and Protected content , if you intend to do this.

If the event of rain or temperatures above 30C, email, call or text the ride host to determine whether the event has been rescheduled.

A few safety issues: 1) Helmets are mandatory; 2) No earphones during the ride; 3) Bring water.
