We will take a casual ride on rather flat terrain down Mt. Vernon Trail through the Alexandria waterfront to the area underneath the Wilson Bridge. (8.5 miles one way)

This area has a nice view of the Potomac, provides a good place to rest, and has a water fountain and toilets.

There is a steep climb to the Wilson Bridge that we need to cross to get to National Harbor, but feel free to walk your bike.

We will have a bite to eat in National Harbor and ride back.

METRO RIDERS: Gravelly point is in Arlington VA, between Crystal City and National Airport on the Yellow and Blue lines. Crystal city is about 1 mile away. Alternatively, you can take Silver, Orange (or blue) to Rosslyn and bike down Mt. Vernon Trail for about Protected content .

PARKING: Free parking at Gravelly Point ( Protected content )

If you don’t want to bike back, there are two metro buses that can take you to either branch Ave or Huntington from National Harbor. Please note that bikes are not allowed on the water taxi.
If you bike back across the bridge, the nearest metro will be King St.
