Chopin and Carmen - the İmperial R.B.C.
Two unforgettable masterpieces that left an indelible mark on art history — Chopin and Carmen — will be performed together for the first time in Turkey, accompanied by a symphony orchestra and organized by Ment Event-Armoni.
CARMEN
Rodion Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite, re-composed based on Georges Bizet’s classical themes, was first staged in Protected content the Bolshoi Theatre, featuring the legendary ballerina Maya Plisetskaya in the leading role. Directed by choreographer Alberto Alonso, this striking production marked a turning point in the history of ballet and resonated profoundly on stages around the world.
Carmen is not merely a love story; it is the dance expression of a soul yearning for freedom, defying the norms imposed by society. Love, passion, death, will, and destiny are brought to life on stage through the universal language of dance.
CHOPIN
Another masterpiece, Chopin, represents the purest expression of Romantic ballet. First staged in Protected content choreographer Mikhail Fokine, this work came to life through the graceful orchestration of Frédéric Chopin’s piano compositions by Alexander Glazunov. In the history of ballet, Chopin is remembered as a “poetic tableau of dance.”
