Special lecture by Mr Luis Felipe Salomão, President of the Brazilian Court of Cassation entitled:
‘Superior Courts: the organisation and administration of the judicial power?’

This conference will provide an opportunity to explore the challenges associated with the organisation and administration of the judiciary within the higher courts, as seen through the eyes of a key figure in the Brazilian legal system.

Luis Felipe Salomão is a Justice of the Superior Court of Justice and the National Inspector of Justice. He has previously served as a Justice of the Superior Electoral Court and Inspector-General of Electoral Justice.

Throughout his career, he has served as a Public Prosecutor for the State of São Paulo, a Judge, and an Appeal Court Judge at the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
He also chaired the Commission of Jurists established by the Federal Senate responsible for the draft bill that expanded arbitration and introduced mediation in Brazil.
