The Persian calendar, the official calendar in Iran, is a solar calendar that New Year's Day is Vernal Equinox (the 1st day of Spring, 21st of March by the Gregorian calendar).

Months of the Persian calendar:
Spring: Farvardin, Ordibehesht, Khordad
Summer: Tir, Mordad, Shahrivar
Autumn: Mehr, Aban, Azar
Winter: Dey, Bahman, Esfand

The first six months consists of 31 days, five months of the second half of 30 days, and the last month of 29 days Protected content in leap years).

Aban is the eighth month of the Solar calendar, it begins in October (23rd) and ends in November (22nd) by the Gregorian calendar.
