Virtual Capital City Hopping by Ferry on the Baltic Sea
There are some fun things to know about the Baltic Sea such as the fact that it is the world's largest inland brackish sea or that Some of the biggest battles in the World War I was fought in the Baltic Sea.
It is also the body of water that enables you to hop comfortably and conveniently by ferry between the interesting capital cities of several pf the countries that enclose it: Copenhagen in Denmark, Stockholm in Sweden, Helsinki in Finland, Tallinn in Estonia and Riga in Latvia. And then there is also Saint Petersburg, Russia's imperial capital for 2 centuries and present-day Russia's second-largest city and (according to many) still its cultural capital that also borders the Baltic Sea.
Having traveled extensively in the region over the years, including several ferry trips that I made in winter and summer, I'd like to introduce you to the joys of discovering Northern Europe and to the unique experience that a ferry trip may be for many of you.
