On the Pasta Trail in Rome with Stanley Tucci
CNN's Travel channel recently started airing a new CNN Original Series called "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy". In this series, American actor Stanley Tucci plays himself while he follows his roots back to the country from where his parents immigrated to the US. In the first series of 6 episodes of "Searching for Italy" his goal is to explore the food of six of Italy's best loved places: Naples and the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Bologna, Milan, Tuscany and Sicily (CNN signed him on for a 2nd series meanwhile). But while it all revolves around the food in the first place, the Academy Award nominee was keen to get into the history, culture and politics of Italy -- and why all those things are inseparable from what's on your plate.
After the positive reactions during and after the first activity organized around the first episode in this series, I am happy to organize follow-up activities for the other episodes as well. Let's have a good time together screening the 2nd episode that is set in Rome, the ancient metropolis whose culinary delights are sometimes overshadowed by more gastronomically famous neighbors. But from sweet maritozzi to the perfect forkful of carbonara, Rome is where you can find great food from sunup to sundown.
