The Devil in a Blue Dress is the first written in a series of best-selling historical mysteries Protected content written so far), featuring the hard-boiled detective Easy Rawlin.

The series are published by Walter Mosley, acclaimed American Novelist and Grammy winner, recognized for his crime fiction style.

I picked this book, not because I want us to eventually read all 14 books in the series :)...I am tempted but won't put you through this chore.... but because I hope that this book will captivate you enough that you'll want to pick up the rest of the series, on your own.

This is a nice change of pace from our previous reads.

Quick summary:

In Los Angeles of the late Protected content , Easy Rawlins, a black war veteran, has just been fired from his job at a defense plant. Easy is drinking in a friend's bar, wondering how he'll meet his mortgage, when a white man in a linen suit walks in, offering good money if Easy will simply locate Miss Daphne Monet, a blonde beauty known to frequent black jazz clubs.

This book has Protected content ( easy enough read ).
