As part of its metropolitan off-site program, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal is pleased to install the exhibition Parties communes in partnership with Plateau Urbain, a temporary urban planning cooperative, in the heart of the site of the former La Rochefoucauld hospital.

Temporarily transforming the site into a community hub while awaiting the development of the future project that will complement the existing historic buildings, to ensure a transitional occupancy period of 18 months. This period aims to experiment with ecological, inclusive, and locally rooted uses before the site's complete rehabilitation. The garden will be open to Parisians for the first time and will become an ecological, social, and educational laboratory.

"Common Areas" explores the architectural, social, and economic issues surrounding these everyday spaces through a comprehensive inventory of archival documents, plans, and diagrams. Case studies of metropolitan architecture detailing the different typologies of common areas are complemented by research into their contemporary uses.
