While many people are repulsed by these magnificently perfect creatures, I find insects amazingly beautiful, intriguingly perfect, but most of all an unparalleled palette of vibrant and lush colors.

And that's just the beginning...when one is offered the rare opportunity to see gigantic hyperrealistic photos of these resilient creatures who have lived on this planet for more than Protected content years...well, then that is a gift, and being able to see such works of art is an honor.
Such an honor that this exhibition "Extinct and Endangered: Insects in Peril"
has its own website Protected content

Extinct and Endangered: Insects in Peril"

From bees to butterflies, insects help keep natural ecosystems healthy. But the evidence is clear: many insect species are in decline.

Experience these tiny animals' outsized impact on our planet through the uniquely powerful macrophotography of Levon Biss, which highlights 40 incredible but imperiled species from specimens from the Museum's world-class research collection in large-format photographs, some as large as 4.5 by 8 feet.

PLEASE NOTE!

There are several exhibitions currently on view. You are welcome to browse through them all. However, be reminded that some are ticketed and cannot be accessed with a general admission ticket.

The museum faces Central Park. It might be a nice thought to grab a cup of coffee, find a nice bench and turtle in the sun for a while after having visited the museum.
