Among Others Greenland and Iceland Come to New York
How frequently do we really get to see art from the Nordic countries, much less from Iceland or Greenland?
My curiosity is infinite...
...and while I do not expect this exhibition to be huge, I do expect it to be a cornucopia of insights into a world that we barely know, if we know it at all.
Let's dive into the unknown and make it known!
"Inside Voices, Outside Light: Perspectives on West Nordic Art" features 21 contemporary artists from the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and Norway.
It presents in a visual vocabulary the unique perspective of these North Atlantic territories, which share cultural and historical ties while each, while possessing distinct identities and communities.
With works ranging across photography, paintings, textiles, film, and sculpture, including three site-specific installations, the exhibition showcases the diversity and complexity of the region, to say the least.

The Cafe & Bistro at Scandinavia House offers a delicious option if we wish to have a meal or just a coffee and a pastry, or...
We can grab a coffee to go and walk to Bryant Park, sit in the sun, and enjoy the season.
