The second stage of the Swiss Path is the longest at just over 10 km, but it is also the easiest. We begin our journey in the village of Bauen, with its lush gardens, narrow alleyways and terraced walls.

We will enjoy a swim in Bauen before heading south along the lake to the pedestrian tunnel that was carved into the rock, creating galleries that offer stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There's also modern "cave art" and historical information inside these man-made caverns.

An update to the pedestrian tunnel in Protected content our walk to the village of Iselten even better than it was in the past. After we walk through Iselten, we will pass a cool lakeside bar if we want to stop for an early apero.

The route takes us onto long wooden footbridges that follow the shoreline before leading us into the Reuss river delta, a refuge for rare plants and more than Protected content of birds, insects, and fish. A lookout tower designed by Grisons architect Gion Caminada offers a panoramic view. After a short stroll to Flüelen, we can pay a visit to park area surrounding the Schloss Rudenz, which was constructed during the 13th century. Protected content
