Bürgenstock Felsenweg Autumn Classic (6.8 KM)

Plan to arrive in Lucerne before 10 am and make your way to Pier 3 in front of the KKL (see map). We will take the 10:07 am catamaran to the Kehrsiten boat dock. The funicular will get us to Bürgenstock Resort at 2:41 pm. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to stroll along the historic Felsenweg and then hike up the more challenging forested path to complete the 6.8 km circuit.

Bring:
- Snacks and plenty of water
- A hat and sunscreen
- A rain jacket (just in case)
- sturdy hiking boots if you plan to complete the full circuit

For those who prefer to skip the rocky walking path in the forest (or if you have never experienced the Hammetschwand Lift), you can meet rest of us at the self-service restaurant at the top of the lift. There are also plenty of picnic tables right next to the lift for anyone who prefers to pack a lunch.

If you want drive and meet us at resort, look for us to arrive on the Kehrsiten-Bürgenstock funicular at 10:41 am. Paid parking is located right outside the entrance, and it's about a 5 minute walk to meet the group as we emerge from the gift shop next to the funicular exit.

After we enjoy our hike and lunch together, participants can:
1) return to Luzern via bus through Stansstad (cheaper)
2) take the funicular and catamaran back to Lucerne (more relaxed)
3) catch a ride with someone who came by car (always a chance!)
