Engelberg Fürenalp Grotzli Snowshoe Trail
Back by popular request (weather permitting). At the back of the Engelberg Valley, past the waterfall, we will meet at the privately-owned Fürenalpbahn that will bring us up to the fabulous Grotzli snowshoe trail. Here we can enjoy snowshoeing in the quiet beauty of winter without having to share the cable car and trail with rowdy skiers. Snowshoes and hiking poles are available to rent at the ticket counter before we get on the cable car.
The Grotzli trail is 3.5 km circuit and the locals estimate two hours to complete the circuit on snowshoes. Join us to enjoy fresh mountain air, great conversations, and iconic views of Gross Spannort.
The Fürenalpbahn and restaurant are typically open daily from 9. Protected content during the winter. From the Engelberg train station, you can take the B Protected content at 9:59 am and get out of the bus at Engelberg, Fürenalp (10th stop). Drivers can meet us at the Protected content at 10:12 am. For those who have time, we can stay for a drink and a meal at the Protected content If there's not enough snow by late December, we'll try again in January.
