A Winter's Day Hike

A winter's day walk through forests and across fields.

We will start in the Grafenberger Wald, then walk through the forest to the fields near glider landing strip and racecourse. Our walk will include a look-out point with a good view over the City of Düsseldorf. Our hike will end in Gerresheim where we can have a drink in a bar or cafe.

The weather forecast is for partly sunny/cloudy weather and it will be cold. So please wear warm and appropriate clothing and footwear. The hike will have some ups- and downs- and will be approx. 13km in length. I will classify it as "moderate" i.e. it will be a hike and not a walk. By participating in this event, you confirm that you have the required level of fitness and you do it at your own risk.

Please bring:
- hiking shoes or boots because the track may be wet and muddy
- warm clothes for a winter's day including a rain proof jacket
- a hot drink / water and a snack
- good humour and conversation

The walk will take place rain or shine. Please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Public Transport to the meeting point from Düsseldorf-Stadtmitte use:
- tram 709
- U-Bahn U73 or U83
- parking is usually available near the starting point on Staufenplatz

We will return by tram to the starting point for those that are driving.
