Sporty hike with wine: From Rech to Mayschoss via Steinerberg
Dear Cologne Hikers,
We loved the beautiful Ahr valley back in July. This time we will combine hiking in the region with some well-deserved wine afterwards.
We will hike from Rech to the top of Steinerberg, the highest mountain of Eifel. From there we will walk back to the Ahr. From the ruin Saffenburg we will have a wonderful view of the Ahr valley. Right below Saffenburg is Mayschoss which hosts its wine fest on every weekend of October and where we will enjoy some delicious Ahr wine.
Distance: about 10 km
Duration: about 3 h
It's a sporty hike this time with long and sometimes steep ascents and descents. Proper hiking boots are recommended.
