I got inspired by our wonderful hiking weekend in Mosel!
This time we'll hike by the UNESCO World Heritage site Upper Middle Rhine Valley and enjoy nature, culture history and Rhine Romanticism :)

Day 1
Oberwesel to Sankt Goar
The path on the first day is described as moderate. Part of it is a short climbing trail called Oelsbergsteig by description it's should be 'easy'. However you can also replace it with an alternative 'Sculpture path'. On the further part of the trail we can enjoy the view to the famous Loreley rock on the other side of the river. We'll stay over night in Sankt Goar.
Since the original path is only 9 km, I suggest we could spend more time in Oberwesel, there is a city wall we can climb and walk on Protected content and Schöneburg Castle with a Tower Museum Protected content . With these modification the distance of the first day would be 13 km.
Protected content
Distance: 13 km
Duration: about 4 h
Ascend: about Protected content
Descent: about Protected content

Day 2
Sankt Goar to Bad Salzig
The path of the second day is described as difficult, so be prepared for some climbing :) We start with visiting the ruins of Rheinfels Castle in Sankt Goar ( Protected content ). The further part of the trail will offer us numerous viewpoints to the castles on the other side of the Rhein.
Protected content
Distance: 19,1 km
Duration: about 6 h
Ascend: about Protected content
Descent: about Protected content

Important!
- please book your accommodation as soon as possible, there are not many rooms left. My suggestion is Protected content , but you can also choose something else or even stay at Castle Rheinfels ;)
- we'll meet Protected content
- bring your climbing shoes and weather proof clothes
- bring your food and water
- if it's raining heavily we have to cancel the event
- only sign up if you will join us and please cancel if you cannot make it

Looking forward for another adventure! :)
