Rome's municipal rose garden is a unique place in the world, located on the slopes of the Aventine Hill, opposite the remains of the Palatine Hill and above the Circus Maximus. Despite its small size, it offers a spectacular view that encompasses the Palatine Hill, the bell tower of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, the dome of the Synagogue.
In total, the Rose Garden is home to approximately 1,100 rose species from all over the world, including some particularly curious ones such as *Rosa chinensis* 'Viridiflora', which has green petals, and *Rosa chinensis* 'Mutabilis', which changes color over the course of several days.
