European Art Cinema Day
"Over a thousand cinemas all over Europe will screen great European films on October 15th. You may think that indie cinemas do that every day, and they do, but they have curated an especially nice program on the 15th.
Protected content invited Markus Acher from The Notwist for a talk and will show films with music composed by the German indie band. Tilsiter Lichtspiele are tying it to their name and will show selected films of documentarian Volker Koepp in their “Memories of Eastern Europe – Dreamland Sarmcacja – The Films of Volker Koepp“. There will also be dark bread sandwiches with Tilsit cheese and gherkins. Sputnik is focusing on young cinema from young EU countries Slovenia and Latvia and will screen Eurotrash from B-film Basterds.
Guests are expected and there will be many sneak previews of European films that will come out in cinemas in the coming weeks like tennis drama BORG/MCENROE, the anti-Austen LADY MACBETH (especially recommended by theProtected content editors) and the controversial father-son satire FIKKEFUCKS by Jan Hendrik “MUXMÄUSCHENSTILL“ Stahlberg in Union and a preview of violinist documentary DANIEL HOPE in filmkunst66.
All of the events costs 6 Euro each."
