Sound Dialogues
‘Sound Dialogues’ takes the audience on a varied musical journey. A trio comprising a cellist, a violinist and a pianist will shape the evening, performing selected works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Against the atmospheric backdrop of the Döbling District Museum, a programme unfolds that focuses on musical dialogues between instruments, eras and forms of expression.
The programme opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 3, a work of great formal clarity and, at the same time, passionate expressiveness. This is followed by the first movement of Johannes Brahms’s Violin Sonata No. 1, whose dense musical language opens up an intimate yet highly concentrated soundscape of great depth.
After the break, the programme continues with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, who broadens and deepens the stylistic scope of the evening.
The concert concludes with Piano Trio No. Protected content and 2nd movements) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy – a work brimming with energy, lyrical intensity and chamber-musical finesse. In this piece, the musical ideas heard previously coalesce into an impressive finale.
The concert is conceived as a lively exchange between the musicians and the audience, offering scope for diverse timbres, forms of expression and interpretative perspectives.
