The Future of Solidarity and Charity

The future of solidarity and charity
A conversation about social interaction and social justice
January 10, Protected content , 5:00 pm
The Altstadt-Armenküche and the Maxhaus continue the discourse on current questions of social justice: What is solidarity? What is charity? On what values is a just society based? How do agreement and cohesion develop? What are the tasks of politicians and what opportunities does civil society have?
A politician and a scientist start a conversation – and all guests are invited to ask questions and set their own impulses.
WITH: Karl-Joseph Laumann (Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia) and Prof. Dr. Christoph Butterwegge (inequality researcher - Prof. em. for Political Science - University of Cologne)
Everybody is welcome to add his / her view on poverty, social justice
and suggestions how the problems could be tackled.
Do we need institutions like the "Armenküche"? Shouldn't it rather be the task of our government and politicians to make sure that everybody has enough to eat?
Come and add your grain of salt to the discussion!
P.S.: The discussion will be held in German!
