Date Night with Ballet Hispanico!

Let’s spend an evening at Protected content Bring a date, bring a friend or just come solo for an evening of fun, new friends, art and a ballet performance.
Ballet Hispánico Artistic Director and CEO Eduardo Vilaro reacts to the ideas presented in the exhibit Juan de Pareja: Afro-Hispanic Painter with Buscando a Juan ("Looking for Juan"). This MetLiveArts commission, which features dancers from Ballet Hispánico, explores the "sancocho"—literally, mixed soup—of cultures and diasporas. Through the exoticized body and fixation on gesture and sensuality, Buscando a Juan will consider the assumptions experienced when witnessing people of color in traditionally white spaces.
We will meet inside the museum at the Protected content at 5:15. We can have a quick drink or snack then go to the performance which starts at 6pm. There is an additional performance that evening at 8pm. The performance is on the court level in the Robert Lehman Wing, Galleries Protected content . Protected content
Then we can wander through the exhibits or take in the view of the roof top if space and time allows. Please only sign up if you plan to attend, or cancel if your plans change as “no shows” are no fun!
Performance is Free with museum admission
Admission is Free for Museum Members. NY and NJ residents pay what you wish.
