Description of the free session: Planets of the Universe
According to current research, we have found more than 5,000 planets revolving around other stars.
These discoveries stir humanity, as they bring to the surface our deepest questions: are we alone in the universe?
The possibility of life beyond Earth, however, remains only a hypothesis – and crossing the enormous distances that separate us from these planets is almost impractical. This session presents the most important discoveries in the search for planets outside the Solar System and, with that, raises awareness about how unique the Earth is. Our planet, a speck in the immensity of the universe, is still the ideal environment for life. As much as science advances and discovers new horizons, distant or not so distant, the Earth is perhaps our only possible habitat. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the universe and discover the importance of each one of us, in respecting and preserving the Earth, for our present survival and that of future generations.
Note: Visitors must bring a coat, as the room has air conditioning.
