Via Ferrata Gantrisch
The magnificent Gantrisch via ferrata (K4 / 1½ hours / Protected content ascent) has enjoyed great popularity since it was built in Protected content . The sunny east face offers some steep and challenging climbing sections. As a reward for completing the via ferrata, a fantastic view awaits from the summit of the Gantrisch, taking in the entire Stockhorn range, the Simmental peaks and as far as the Fribourg Alps. From the pay-and-display car park “Türliboden oben”, it takes just under an hour to reach the start of the via ferrata. A final mutual check of our equipment and off we go. After 1½ hours we reach the end of the via ferrata and, after a further quarter of an hour, the summit of Gantrisch. There we enjoy the picnic we’ve brought with us as the sun sets. Afterwards, a steep descent, partly secured by chains, back to the car park as darkness falls. We meet at 5.30 pm at the paid car park “Türliboden oben”.
Requirements: Via ferrata for those with some experience who are not afraid of heights. The via ferrata is undertaken entirely at your own risk!
Equipment: A rented or personal via ferrata set with climbing gear, 2 belay carabiners with integrated fall arresters, a helmet and gloves.
Miscellaneous: Please bring your own picnic provisions for the Gantrisch in your rucksack. The climbing fee is officially CHF 15.00 per person per ascent.
