Via Ferratas Around Grindelwald

Meeting at 8:35 a.m. at the Eigergletscher mountain station. We'll then hike for one hour to the start of the Rotstock via ferrata (K3). After the via ferrata, we'll descend over scree back to the Eigergletscher station and hike along the Eiger Trail to the Alpiglen junction. There, we'll have lunch at the restaurant. Afterwards, we'll hike for approximately 90 minutes to the Ostegg via ferrata (K3). We'll spend the night in the basic Ostegg Hut (Ostegg Hut on the Eiger, 3,970 m) at 2,320 m above sea level. The hut has 15 beds (open dormitory). The next morning, we'll descend to Grindelwald, and if we're feeling energetic and have the energy, we can hike up to the Gleckstein.

Cost: I will pay the overnight fee of CHF 30.00 per person in cash for everyone at the hut, putting it in the cash box. Since this fee is non-refundable, please transfer CHF 30.00 to me in advance via Twint. This should be done once it's clear that the weather conditions will permit the trip.

Options: It's also possible to participate on Sunday only, without an overnight stay. Please let me know in your inquiry whether you would like to stay overnight or not.

Requirements: The via ferratas are relatively easy, but the unsecured descents with scree should not be underestimated. Nevertheless, beginners without a fear of heights can participate. The via ferratas are expressly undertaken at your own risk! For safety reasons, the trip will only take place in good weather conditions.
