Circular Hike Around Mont Blanc

Who fancies a circular hike around Mont Blanc lasting just over a week – with a tent and backpack? The plan is to start and finish in Champex or Trient (VS), above Martigny. You’ll need to be physically fit and have already completed multi-day trekking tours carrying a backpack weighing around 10 kg. You’ll need to be prepared to do without some comforts: we’ll be spending the nights in tents or – subject to availability – in basic mountain huts. I’m planning for 8 days of walking, covering a total of around Protected content and approximately 9,400 metres of elevation gain, assuming consistently good weather conditions. However, anything can happen along the way: we might find that the group dynamics or fitness levels aren’t a good fit, or the weather might force us to make adjustments – or even cut the tour short.
