Voices of Prophecy: Women, Power & Faith
Join us for a fascinating evening lecture exploring women, prophecy, faith, and political change in early modern Europe.
Professor Adelisa Malena, Associate Professor of Early Modern History at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, will explore the experiences and influence of women prophets and visionaries during periods of major religious and political change.
Drawing mainly on 17th-century case studies, the lecture will look at their words, gestures, and forms of communication, as well as how religious and political authorities responded to their influence.
Registration is required, preferably by the day before the lecture.
