Cinema "Franz K" Like Kafka, the Famous Czech Writer 🎦 🇨🇿
"Franz K"
Franz, or sometimes Franz K. or Franz Kafka, is a French-German-Czech-Polish biographical film - biopic - directed by the Polish director Agnieszka Holland and released in Protected content .
Czech Writer, Polish director : perfect for the Paris Eastern Europe Group ;-)
Pitch :
From his childhood in Prague to his death in Vienna, the film traces the journey of Franz Kafka, a man torn between his aspiration for an ordinary existence and his irrepressible need to write, marked by tormented love relationships.
Critic from "Libération", daily newspaper :
"The 76-year-old Franco-Polish director Agnieszka Holland clearly has no intention of being intimidated and, with Franz K., offers her own version of the obsessive writer, demanding that everything be absorbed and considered, from childhood to death and beyond, by addressing the excesses of Kafka tourism in Prague (museum visits, souvenirs, restaurants bearing his name, statues of varying degrees of taste...). The film proceeds through vignettes and ellipses, moving from one subject to another to depict the contradictions and persistent enigmas of an individual who is both profoundly routine-bound and unconventional, seeking to escape the conformist hell of his family, but unable (or not for long) to bear being separated from this primal home."
