Pornography, an almost $100 billion industry today, is more accessible and consumable than ever through technology. There are different views and opinions on whether it is harmful, damaging, exploitative, taboo or constructive, healthy, acceptable and normalized. We will approach the topic from a cultural, sociological and anthropological angle.

Topics of discussion:

Do you consider porn harmful?

Is watching porn a form of cheating on your partner?

Why is porn such a taboo in most societies?

Should porn be more normalized and mainstream? So that it is not such a taboo and not abused?

What do you think about the idea “ethical porn” and “feminist porn”? Can they be empowering to people in the industry and create a safety net for them? Can it be done in a non-exploitative, ethical and empowering manner for the men and women involved?

EVENT FORMAT:

Event will be based on your participation and views. There will be breakout rooms for good discussions and then sharing your thoughts as a group in the main room. You must join event with your videos turned on and be willing to participate.
