Nicolas Poussin was the first painter to take an interest not merely in landscapes, but in nature itself. Something of this “feeling for nature” is passed down through subsequent generations, from Gaspard Dughet to Joseph Vernet. But what remains of it today?
This is the question explored by the exhibition, which sets classical paintings in dialogue with contemporary works—sculptures, installations, photographs, videos, films, paintings, and drawings.
