Guided Tour of New Art and Music Exhibition (Plus Drinks)

In a major new exhibition just opened in Málaga, Fundación Unicaja is presenting 'Y sonó la música. Musical iconography in art', which explores the representation and influence of music on artistic creation from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.

We have organised a guided tour in English and the cost is 3 euros.

The exhibition highlights how music has been a source of inspiration, a symbol of spirituality, an instrument of communication and a reflection of everyday life.

It brings together more than a hundred pieces including paintings, sculptures, engravings, photographs and documentary pieces that dialogue with historical musical instruments to offer an experience that connects art, history and music.

Among the artists represented are great figures in the history of art such as Picasso, Murillo, José de Ribera, Alonso Cano, Juan de Roelas, Juan de Valdés Leal, Ramón Bayeu, Enrique Simonet, Julio Romero de Torres, Joaquín Peinado, José Moreno Villa and Rafael Alberti.

It includes 'Comedy characters. Allegory of music' by José Denis Belgrano, a monumental composition of four meters in length belonging to the collection of the Unicaja Foundation.
