ROMAN SHIP MUSEUM - GUIDED TOUR IN ITALIAN
Join us for an exclusive guided tour led by an expert professor, who will bring to life the fascinating world of ancient navigation and port activity.
The visit unfolds across two levels: the ground floor and a spectacular elevated walkway suspended between the walls and the two monumental river vessels at the heart of the hall. This unique perspective allows visitors to admire the shipwrecks from multiple viewpoints — from the submerged structures to a breathtaking overall view from above.
Through engaging explanations, the tour reveals ancient shipbuilding techniques, onboard equipment, daily life aboard the ships and within the port, as well as the impressive organization of Portus and its role in Mediterranean maritime trade.
The experience concludes in the multimedia room, where a captivating film recreates the vibrant life of the ancient port between sea and river, complemented by interactive touchscreens for deeper exploration. The entire route is fully accessible, ensuring a comfortable and barrier-free experience for all visitors, including families and guests with reduced mobility.
