Briscola Card Game and Pub Dinner at a 'Bruin Café'

European art history is filled with master painters who captured the rowdy, tense, or quietly contemplative world of card games in taverns, inns, and cafés. We will be attempting to capture a similar ambiance at one of the Hague's famous 'bruin café's: Protected content which has an excellent food menu - I've attached some photos. At 6 to 8 pm, the café should be more quietly contemplative than rowdy or tense - the space fills up later in the evening. I have booked for four people. But if more people sign up we can ask for two tables and we'll play with two card decks!

La storia dell'arte europea è ricca di grandi pittori che hanno saputo immortalare l'atmosfera – ora vivace e tesa, ora silenziosa e contemplativa – delle partite a carte in taverne, locande e caffè. Cercheremo di ricreare un'atmosfera simile in uno dei celebri "bruin café" (i tipici caffè storici olandesi) dell'Aia: Protected content che offre anche un'ottima scelta di piatti (allego alcune foto). Nella fascia oraria tra le 18:00 e le 20:00, il locale dovrebbe essere più tranquillo e contemplativo che caotico o teso; è infatti più tardi, nel corso della serata, che si riempie maggiormente. Ho prenotato per quattro persone, ma se dovessero aggiungersi altri partecipanti, potremo richiedere due tavoli e giocare con due mazzi di carte!
