Prague Half marathon - Run or Cheer or Watch?
Prague Half marathon
The RunCzech running season will kick off, as usual, with the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon on April 6th Protected content . Staged in one of Europe’s most scenic capitals, and featuring the best Czech and international running stars, it’s no surprise that this is one of the most popular, fastest and fun half marathons in the world.
If you want to participate of the half marathon you can subscribe by the site:
Note that the start list is already full so you can only register through one of the travel agencies.
RUNCZECH or WATCHCZECH or CHEERCZECH? You choose ...
If you participate in this event you deserve a big respect from the others. To complete a half marathon needs lot of workouts and endurance so if you registered to the race keep practicing and after completing be proud of yourself.
If you are not a participant of this race you also can be proud of yourself by supporting those who want to meet their goal with this run. So join us and go cheering! Bring a flag of your country of origin or that of your favorite country or just choose one randomly and support runners of our group and those who you probably don't know. You can make banners with your favorite or random names and/or cheering text on them in your favorite or random languages. You can bring any kind of instruments to give the runners some pace and noise when they start to fall apart. Doing this you can make them happy (at least a littlebit), raise their level of self-confidence and give them extra energy to keep running even if they feel dying.
Or if you want only to watch the marathon not from a TV and enjoy the sunny day, you can see the start of the half marathon and enjoy it going by public transportation to see the rest of marathon up near Pražský metronom or by the lovely view of Letna Park.
Running or even supporting the runners in a city run is a really big fun. We will try to find the best places to support the runners and make a schedule when and where to go on the route.
So, please, runners, post your planned pace and finishing time in the comments so we can calculate when and where we can catch you and kick your ass if you are walking instead of running 😀
We will meet at náměstí Jana Palacha in front of Rudolfinum around the Antonin Dvorák statue (see pics) before the run (around 9 am) to support our runners and after the run to congratulate them.
Those who complete their first half marathon in their life will be my guest for a beer after the race (so please, let us know if you are a first-timer in comment - or in pvt msg if you are shy, but do not be shy, be proud).
Any other idea how to make cheering, supporting and first of all running a better adventure is welcome.
First-timers, feel free to ask any question in the comments. The other experienced runners will be happy to answer them. Again, do not be shy 🤗
