Vineyard Visit & Fondue Dinner in Lavaux
Join us for a Friday night unlike any other. This vineyard experience combines a visit with Constance and Jean Duboux of Riex, celebrating their work as winemakers and the breathtaking views of the lake and alps from Lavaux, with sabering sparkling wine, and fondue dinner.
The Plan
You will have a vineyard and wine cellar introduction with the winemakers to learn about their work. Secondly each participant will receive 1 bottle of organic sparkling wine and have a sabering lesson from our guru with unsharpened sword, to learn the technique of opening bottles in this unconventional manner. This will be followed by a fondue dinner with local gruyere/vacherin cheeses, apéro snacks and artisanal sourdough bread.
What to wear
Wear sneakers or good walking shoes for the vineyard walk, and optional walk downhill to the train station. Clothing adapted to the weather as the walk and sabering are outdoors, dinner is indoors in the tasting room.
Arrival
Take a taxi to the vineyard in Riex or arrive by train from Lausanne to Cully, and Xavier, the host has kindly offered to pick guests up. if you would like a pick up, be sure to register in advance and write him a note on the registration form.
