Come be a witness of the Puja Pantai ritual. It is held by one of the few indigenous tribes in Malaysia called the Mah Meri. They are known as the Maskmen of Malaysia and live on Pulau Carey in Selangor. It is believed to appease the sea spirits, and honour the protector spirits.

On the day it's, we'll march with the Mah Meri to the ritual site, out to the beach where the grand altar has stood for centuries. You can receive blessings from the shaman, watch their performances, and join in the Mah Meri dance. Of course, we'll also watch how the Mah Meri conduct their annual Puja Pantai as they have done for centuries. It's not something you get to see in Malaysia every day!

Click Attend and I'll drop you a message so you can book your ticket.

- If you have clicked that you are attending but can't make it, please let someone on the waiting list go for it.
- There are certain taboos during the event which will be pointed out to us on the day. For example, no blocking the parade or taking the food placed at the altar (as these are reserved for the spirits)
- Photos are welcomed.
