Singapore Ballet returns Protected content
with Ballet Illuminations, opening the evening with the all-time favourite Paquita, a sparkling showcase of classical virtuosity. The programme then moves into neoclassical territory, reflecting the company’s tradition of presenting both classical and contemporary works—previous editions have featured audience favourites such as Cinderella Act 2, Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 102, and neo-classical gems by Choo-San Goh.
This year’s performance expands with two compelling additions from the company’s repertoire: Shadow’s Edge by Ma Cong — highlighting his bold, contemporary choreographic voice. Evening Voices by Tim Rushton — an atmospheric, sculptural work blending classical lines with modern expression.
Together, these works deliver a dynamic evening that journeys from classical brilliance to contemporary nuance, offering Malaysian audiences a concentrated taste of Singapore Ballet’s artistic range.
