Hi all,
Das kalte Herz is a new opera in twelve scenes by Matthias Pintscher, with a libretto by Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg, premiering in Protected content . Based on Wilhelm Hauff’s Protected content , the work belongs to the tradition of operas that rethink literary material through sound, structure, and atmosphere rather than narrative excess.
The composer conducts his own score, with staging by James Darrah Black, whose work across opera, theatre, and film brings a contemporary theatrical sensibility to the production. Conceived as a tightly focused work, Das kalte Herz places music, text, and space in close alignment, favouring precision over spectacle.
