The Cunning Little Vixen
Dear all,
Janáček’s the Cunning Little Vixen returns in a new production, one of the composer’s most distinctive and poetic operas. Written in Protected content , with music and text by Leoš Janáček after the novella by Rudolf Těsnohlídek, the work blends lyricism, folklore, and sharp observation of the natural world.
The performance is conducted by Simon Rattle and staged by Ted Huffman. Vera-Lotte Boecker sings the role of the Vixen, alongside Magdalena Kožená as the Fox, bringing together a remarkable musical team for this production.
The Cunning Little Vixen occupies a unique place in the repertoire, combining orchestral colour, rhythmic vitality, and Janáček’s unmistakable dramatic voice. It promises a vivid and distinctive evening at the opera.
