Let's Hike Mount Kinka! Nature, Views & New Friends
Let's get outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, and explore the beautiful nature of Gifu together!
We'll hike Mount Kinka Protected content , home to historic Gifu Castle, with wonderful views over Gifu City, the Nagara River, and the surrounding landscape.
We'll take the Hyakumagari Trail (百曲り) up and the easier Nanamagari Trail (七曲り) back down.
Hyakumagari is a relatively short but steep trail with rocky sections. No technical mountaineering skills are needed, but good fitness, sure footing, and some hiking experience are recommended.
We'll keep a comfortable group pace, with time to enjoy the scenery and get to know each other. Allow approximately 3 hours for the hike, including breaks.
**Meeting point:**
In front of the statue of young Oda Nobunaga (若き日の織田信長像), near the main entrance of Gifu Park (岐阜公園正門).
The park is accessible by bus from JR Gifu and Meitetsu Gifu stations, with parking available nearby.
**What to bring:**
Good hiking boots with reliable grip, weather-appropriate clothing, and drinking water.
I'm looking forward to meeting fellow nature lovers and hopefully organizing more hikes around Gifu!
See you on the trail!
Karl
*Note: Gifu Castle is temporarily closed for renovations, but the hiking trails and mountain views remain the focus of our activity.*
