Outdoor Activity: Hiking Trip From Schöna to Prebischtor
Hello outdoor fans,
this Sunday July 20, let's return to the Sächsische Schweiz and hike from Schöna to Prebischtor.
We'll meet at 7:45 at platform 21 at the Leipzig Main Station in order to catch the 8:00 train RE 50. This time we'll change trains twice. At Dresden Main Station we'll change to S1 to Bad Schandau, there continue with U28 to Schöna.
In Schöna we take the ferry across the Elbe to Hrensko (included in Deutschlandticket)
Hiking Route Overview:
Start at Schöna station
Walk about 15 minutes down to the Elbe ferry
Cross the river by ferry to Hřensko
Follow the red hiking trail uphill toward Pravčická brána
Protected content first part is mostly flat along the river
Protected content a gradual incline through beautiful forest paths
Arrive at Pravčická brána — Europe’s largest natural sandstone arch!
Protected content entrance fee (~95 CZK) grants access to the viewpoint and a restaurant
Return the same way, or for those interested, extend the hike via Edmund Gorge for a longer loop
